Chapin, S.C. – General Information Services, Inc. (GIS), a leading provider of background screening services, has been selected by the U.S. Postal Service as a winner in its 2009 U.S. Postal Service Supplier Performance Awards program.
GIS was notified on April 2 that it was a winner in the Supplier Innovation Awards category. The award recognizes Postal Service contractors for superior supply chain performance.
As the national supplier of pre-employment screenings, GIS was chosen from a pool of contractors nominated by Postal Service professionals. This pool was selected from among the more than 20,000 vendors that service the Post Office.

Conrad accepted the award on behalf of GIS at the award ceremony on April 26, 2010, where a total of 13 Postal Service suppliers were honored. GIS was one of two companies honored for Supplier Innovation.
GIS has been providing background screenings to the U.S. Postal Service since 2002.
